Territory Grocery Auditor
In this position, my main job was to audit the Publix and Winn-Dixie stores in the Fort Myers area of Southwest Florida for Specific companies that wanted a better idea of how their products were being represented in the stores. One of the major companies that I would audit was Satori cheese, President's cheese, and Galbani cheese. A lot of cheese was the primary principle that I audited for. I would also audit for Primal Kitchen, which is an alternative dressing and condiment company with a primary goal of using avocado oil in place of milk, so dairy-free ranch and Mayo. In this role, I was able to engage with many different managers, store managers, and section managers, and all of the various stores in the Fort Myers area. I would make sure that the item was in the case or on display that they had enough of the item in stock. The biggest one was ensuring they had extra stock before a big sale or discount, and that the product was displayed to the manufacturer's specifications. I would have an audit sheet that I would mark down and give to the manager. This was a way of doing inventory on these specific items to help the manager understand what they have in their case at all times.

IT Intern
This was my first job after starting my information technology and cybersecurity path. I learned a lot. I had some excellent mentors who encouraged me on my chosen path. My primary role was not to grunt in the field with goodwill. The budget is remarkably restrained. The company is a nonprofit, so you have to make do with what you've got. And with the size of Southwest Florida's goodwill territory, my role became that of the road warrior. My job was to go to the Goodwills in person to be the conduit for the more experienced IT specialists to have a hands-on view without explaining what to do to one of the store employees. Through doing that, I picked up many tips and tricks to be a more efficient it technician.
01/2025 to Current Goodwill Industries SWFL - Fort Myers, FL
Central Processor
I started in this position shortly after they had moved their conveyor belt line to a new location in the building. My job in this central processing role is to help sort the thousands of books donated to Goodwill annually, with a backlog of over 200 Gaylords full of a thousand books each. The machine was purchased to sort them quicker so they could start putting a dent in that backlog. Where the machine was originally, it took an extremely long amount of time to get one Gaylord to the machine, and they could only bring two at a time. So, goodwill moved the machine to a new location in the building, allowing easier access to more books. When I started, it was right after they moved the machine, but they hadn't developed a process for feeding it. I was responsible for the heavy labour of moving Gaylord's totes and other items. Which just so happened to put me in charge of feeding the machine. I realised I could use the forklift drivers to move more Gaylords than by hand with a pallet Jack. So I decided to enlist the help of the forklift drivers to start bringing me more. We went from bringing two Gaylords to 14 at the beginning of the day, and we would get through eight of them by lunch, and then another six by the end of the day. This took our numbers from 1000 to 5000 books today to 5000 to 8000 daily. After reloading the machine, I figured out the quickest and most efficient way so that the machine never sat idle and was always running. This process consisted of having two live gay lords at all times and then having one ready to be loaded off to the side. One was reloaded on a tilter, and the other would be loaded sitting flat. The one being unloaded sitting flat would be unloaded until it was half empty, and then it would be put on the tilter to be emptied, and then a full one would be put where the half-empty set one was. And we would cycle it just like that; I would be moving into a new Gaylord every hour. And after two and a half months of this process, we went from 200 backstock books to 41, and now we're sitting at 13. The thing that made me so efficient in this role is that I never stopped moving, and when I did move, I moved with a purpose and a plan. For every action I take, I think of what action I could take afterwards and what I am doing could lead me to do next. Because of those efforts, our team received recognition from the CEO of Goodwill and recognition for achieving the ultimate goal for which the machine was purchased.
